Winter Woes Be Gone

Yes, we’ll admit it, it’s cold BUT…. just because the temperature drops, doesn’t mean your activity levels have to as well! So here it is; our five fun ways to keep you entertained, and active, through the winter months ahead.

1. Catch a flick

Other than popcorn, which in itself is a pretty good darn reason to visit your local cinema, it all about the shared experience.

When you watch a movie at the cinemas, you're sharing it with everyone around you. There's nothing quite like a room full of people laughing, crying or gasping at the same moments as they journey through a story together.

2. Sample ALL of the coffee shops

Let’s face facts, coffee makes rolling out of bed each morning a thousand times easier and there’s a tonne of variations like iced, hot, frappe, latte and the list goes on.

Coffee can get you through that 3pm slump like nobody’s business!

3. Shop ‘til you drop

A guilty pleasure that might not be so guilty after all.

If you Google the benefits of shopping, this is what you’ll see:

Lifts your mood, lowers stress levels, and improves mental acuity, live longer and exercise.

I don’t know about you but I’m sold.

4. Channel your inner-kid and get gaming at the arcade

There’s just something about that nostalgic feeling about a trip to your local arcade. One of the beauties when it comes to arcades is the wide-spanning variety… You can be shooting hoops one moment and killing virtual zombies the next.

Talk about versatility AND both options will warm you up pronto.

5. Spend a day in with a great book

Like the wise J.K. Rowling once said, “I do believe something very magical can happen when you read a good book."

Curl up with your favourite blanket or pooch and get lost in a good book. You’ll not only disconnect from the outside world for a time, you’ll derive a tonne of health benefits including preserving your brain health and a lower risk of Alzheimer’s and Dementia. It’ll also boost your happiness and overall life satisfaction.

Just be careful though, I personally was in a relationship with an apostrophe, but we broke up... Far too possessive (lol).
